Sigurd Elvestad · Norwegian Triathlete

A change of plan.
A new starting line.

An unexpected setback led Sigurd Elvestad from military ambitions into triathlon. Now, the athlete from Horten is building on local victories and international age-group success — one early morning and one race at a time.

My Story

The plan changed. The drive remained.

Sigurd planned to become a military paratrooper. An ankle injury during selection brought that plan to a halt. When a former teacher invited him to train with the local triathlon community, a new direction began to take shape.

Swimming demanded the most work. With support from coaches, family and training partners, the progress followed — and on 18 October 2026 he lines up at IRONMAN Málaga for his first race as a professional.

His story is still taking shape. That is what makes it worth following.
